Speaker Series
The Department of Public Policy (DPP) sponsors a speaker series at the University of Connecticut's Greater Hartford Campus. The purpose of the series is to provide a forum for presentation of leading public policy research on urban issues and to allow students and faculty from the University of Connecticut Community to engage with policy leaders from across the state.
Sessions will be informal and will include a presentation by the speaker and time for questions and discussions. Lunch will be served at selected sessions. Speakers in the series will include:
- Researchers from within the University of Connecticut and from other academic and research institutions
- High level officials in local, state, and federal government agencies
- High level offcials from non-profit, community, and philanthropic organizations
- Local, regional, and state political leaders
The goal is for the series to attract students and faculty from across the Greater Hartford campus including: the Masters in Public Administration program, the Urban and Community Studies major, the School of Social Work and the Department of Family Studies. The hope is that sessions can attract faculty from other University of Connecticut schools and campuses such as the Law School and the Medical School, as well as public policy and urban scholars from nearby colleges and universities.
