MPA Application Information

Thank you for your interest in UConn's MPA Program! All application materials are available here, on-line. If you prefer, we would be happy to mail you an information packet and application. Please click here to complete the request form.

The program highly encourages applications from individuals regardless of race, age, gender, religion, culture or physical ability. We strongly encourage women and minorities to apply.

We encourage interested applicants to visit us, tour our facilities, and meet with the director, professors and students in the program. To arrange a visit, please contact Valerie Rogers at 860-570-9343.

Admission to the MPA program is selective. Considerations for admission are:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Academic transcripts

Verbal, quantitative and analytical scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). For more information on the GRE exam and to schedule a test date, visit their website:: http://www.gre.org

TOEFL exam scores for international applicants

A personal letter addressing the applicants goals and objectives for a career in public administration. The letter should discuss why the applicant is interested in public service, what influences have swayed the applicant in pursuing an MPA, and why an MPA from UConn would help the applicant reach his or her career goals.) The admissions committee will be begin reviewing applications on February 15th for Fall admission and November 15th for Spring admission.

Financial Aid - The MPA Program offers, on a competitive basis , several graduate assistantships (GA's) each year. To be considered for an assistantship the following form must be completed and sent to the MPA Office: Graduate Assistant Form
